Have you ever stopped to think how many important things in scripture take place in a garden? It all began in a garden, really, in the Garden of Eden. Adam and Eve rebelled and through self-will they alienated themselves from the love of God.

It was in the garden of Gethsemane that Jesus fought the greatest battle of his life there in the garden, the struggle was so intense that he sweat drops of blood. He knew what was before him, and undoubtedly He was talking about the Cross when he anguished, "If it be possible, let this cup pass from me." There in Gethsemane, our Lord surrendered his will to the will of the Father: "Nevertheless, not my will but your will be done."
