"Yes, I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from me you can do nothing.” (John 15:5)

Most of us today are not much familiar with the idea of “tenant farming.” But it was a popular practice in many countries up until the 20th century. The term referred to a landowner who hires tenants to live on and work the agriculture of the property, seeding, planting, reaping, harvesting the fruit of the land, and then giving a portion of that property back to the landowner as payment.
