Leader: In the name of the Father, and of the Son, + and of the Holy Spirit.
All: Amen.
Leader: The tempter comes with a seductive sweetness in his voice. The tempter comes promising us the world. The tempter comes, and without you, dear Jesus, we are defenseless.

How has the tempter come to you in these days? Let us remember now, that his deadly spell might be broken and life restored.
