Exegetical aim: To demonstrate that in God’s eyes we are all within His saving power through Jesus Christ, no matter what we look like or who we are.

Key verse: 12

Props: A deck of cards, setting up the bottom of the deck with four black cards and then a red card.

Lesson: Today I want to show you a funny game. I call it “Fire and Water.” When I hold up the deck and you see a card that is black, you say “Water”, and when you see a card that is red, you say “Fire!” real loudly. Okay? Here goes. (The children should say water for the first four cards, then as you show them the red card, they will yell “fire!” When they do, shoot the cards at them. This should evoke some giggles) Well you told me to fire the cards didn’t you? O my, now there’s a mess. You know it reminds me of a story.
