Good morning to you, boys and girls. How many of you have ever heard me talk about the Father, Son and Holy Ghost? You have? Do you know what that means? There is only one God, right? Right. But we know God in three different ways. We know God as a Father, as a Son and as the Holy Ghost. How can one God be three persons? See if this helps. How many people am I? Just one, that's right. Now when I am talking to my wife, I am a husband. When I am playing with my children, I am their father. When I am listening to my father, I am his son. [This may take some careful conversation, explaining relationships, etc.] You see, I am different persons to different people, but I am only one. Well, now, that isn't exactly the way it is with God, but it helps us to understand how one God can be three persons.

I know that you believe that Jesus Christ is God and because he is God he is powerful. He has authority. Do you know what authority means? That's a big word. But there is a smaller word in it. Let me show you what I mean. Do you know what I brought with me this morning? [Hold up the comic strips.] How many of you read the comics? Good. Are they real people like you and me? No. Who makes them for the comics? Well, right here in each comic strip the man who makes the drawings of the people signs his name. We call him an author. That's the little word in the big word authority.

Jesus says that he is the author of the heavens and the earth. That means he made it and he is in charge. He made us and he is in charge of us. Jesus has and is authority and we are glad. It is good that Jesus is in charge.

The man in the comics can have his people laugh and run and jump. He draws the comic strip. Jesus is our author and he can make us happy and full and joy and love. We need to listen to our author, Jesus, and to what he says, for he is in charge.
