SUBJECT:  Tithing, stewardship 

CHARACTERS:  Husband, wife

Husband:  "Well, I''m glad that''s over with.  If I''d

known today was Stewardship Sunday, I might have slept in." 

Wife:  "I''m glad we came.  I thought the pastor made

some good points." 

Husband:  "I hope we''re not going to start that

conversation again." 

Wife:  "I think we need to talk about it." 

Husband:  "Honey, we''ve talked about this so many

times, and we just don''t agree on the issue.  I don''t see how we can start

tithing yet." 

Wife:  "But we decided last year that if you got a

raise, we would start giving more to the church." 

Husband:  "Yes, but we''ve still got too many bills

to pay.  We''re still not in the position where we can relax financially and
