It was a particularly exciting moment in the worship service. Pastor Steve stepped to the front of the chancel and in a powerful voice announced, "It's time for Jenny's baptism!" He walked quickly to the baptismal font where Jenny waited, clinging to her father's neck, eyes wide open in wonder. All the children in the sanctuary, as was their custom, rushed to the font. They gathered around Jenny, her parents and godparents. Standing on tiptoe, they struggled to see the smiling faces and to hear the splashing water. Jenny was about to be named "Child of God" and become a member of God's own family.
