When Your Actions Are Too Loud

Your actions speak so loud I can't hear what you're saying. Did you read how Ferdinand Marcos said that his religious devotion kept him from committing suicide?  It's too bad it didn't keep him from stealing his country blind.  Or his wife who complained that the media coverage was only showing her extravagances and the luxury of the palace in manila and not showing the prayer room in the palace which would prove how pious they were?  Then there was the bank robber in Minneapolis who told police when he was finally apprehended that he had been converted in a Billy Graham crusade and that is why he did not use a gun to injure anyone.  Integrity of inner and outer life, harmony between profession and performance are desperate needs.  I've been thinking about it in this simple way.  My talk and my walk must not be in contradiction.  What I say must be verified by what I do.
