One of the most misunderstood terms in the New Testament is the word, "believe." We ministers preach on the word from time to time, and often-times never stop to tell what it means. This is especially perplexing to unregenerated people who do believe whatever they are told to believe, but who still do not consider themselves saved or born again, spiritually.
Maybe you grew up under such circumstances. Perhaps as a child, you never heard of an infidel. Everyone you knew did not deny religion and the Bible. To be sure, some were gluttons and drunkards, others swore and cursed; many were given to lying and stealing, but they all believed. Not a single one among them ever questioned the authenticity of the Bible or the authority of the Word of God, or the reality of Jesus Christ.
