In the third vision the prophet observes God with a plumb line, standing on a wall (the exact wall is not identified) in order to determine if the wall is plumb (7:6–9). This symbolizes God’s work of examining the nation of Israel to find out if it is upright or if it is falling over and in need of destruction.
