How many of us are willing to die for what we believe? The apostles were. They were so convinced that the teachings of Jesus were of God's divine orders that they continued to teach Jesus' resurrection although the religious leaders had forbidden them to continue. As a result of their disobedience they were brought before the Sanhedrin and questioned by the high priest. Once again Peter rose to the occasion and spoke:
We must obey God rather than any human authority. The God of our ancestors raised up Jesus, whom you had killed by hanging him on a tree. God exalted him at his right hand as Leader and Savior that he might give repentance to Israel and forgiveness of sins.
