For a Non-member Friend

This sermon was preached at the funeral of a woman, sixty years of age, who died very suddenly and unexpectedly.
She was not a member of my - or any - congregation, but was the mother of my next-door-neighbor.
It seemed that in the last four years or so this family had experienced one tragedy after another. I was asked by my next-door-neighbor to conduct the service.
For Mrs. _____________, for _____________, there were different times, different seasons in her life. There was time to be a sister; a sister to _________ and to ____________ and to ____________ and to _________; a sister loved and cared for. There was time to be a wife, a beloved wife of ____________. A time to build a life together. A time to be a husband…
