(The scene opens up in a doctor’s waiting room. Waiting Man is visibly worried. Mr. Rush, his arm in a sling, paces impatiently. Vickie sits in a chair. She has the hiccups. Mrs. Hornblower enters with a bad cold. She has boxes of Kleenex with her and blows her nose occasionally. She sits as the scene opens.)

Mr. Rush: Boy, I don’t know what’s taking so long. I’ve been waiting here nearly an hour.

Vickie: Whatcha here for, mister? (hiccups)

Mr. Rush: They’re just gonna check my arm, make sure it’s healing…
