Good morning, boys and girls. How many of you have ever been to a campfire? (Let them answer.) Having a campfire is a beautiful way to end the day. Everyone who is camping has finished playing and doing the chores and is just getting ready to rest before going to bed. The stars are out and the woods are filled with the noises of animals and birds and insects that are getting ready to go to bed. Pretend with me that we are getting all ready to have a campfire. I have the wood all stacked and some paper and matches to get it started. How many of you are ready to watch the bright light of the fire and smell the wood burning? (Let them answer.)
