Object: A theatre ticket.

Good morning, boys and girls. Today we are going to talk about giving something up so that we can have something better. This is not always very easy, because we do not like to give up things that we have for something that we do not yet have. I brought with me a ticket that I got the other night, and I thought that maybe this would help me to teach you something about Jesus that is hard for all of us to understand.

When I went to the theatre the other night, I gave the man at the window my money and he gave me a ticket. Now as you can see it is a pretty ticket. I like tickets.
