18:18–30 Following Mark, Luke narrates an account of Jesus’ encounter with a certain ruler (see note below) who inquires of Jesus what he must do to inherit eternal life. Jesus reminds him of the commandments and cites five of the Ten Commandments concerning proper behavior toward fellow human beings.
