Death after long illness

The meditation text is Matthew 11:28-30: "Come to me, all who labor and are heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me; for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light."

Sometimes it seems as though these words of Jesus haven't been read by the church of the twentieth century. Many have added so much to the "easy yoke" of Christ, and to the "light burden" of Christ. It seems as though our Lord's gospel is too good to be true, so we add a lot of extras: You've got to do this to be saved; you've got to do that; "this" is a must for salvation; these are the steps to take in order to believe.Thank God the Father that his son, Jesus, was not so complicated.
