I have a good friend, a fellow baby-boomer, who was required by the company he worked for to move to a different part of the state. The move meant a promotion and a sizable raise in his pay, but he was ambivalent about it. His kids were in middle school and had friends they’d have to leave. He and his wife were active in the church and the schools. While he looked forward to the new challenges of his job, he was sad about all that he would be losing in the move. H…
