Daughter: "What are all these names for?"
Mother: "Those are the names of people from this
church who''ve served in the armed forces. They''re being recognized for
Memorial Day."
Daughter: "I don''t think I know any of them."
Mother: "You''re related to one of them."
Daughter: "Really? Who?"
Mother: "Second column, Vincent Mackey. He''s your
dad''s second cousin. So in a very round-about way, you two are related."
Daughter: "How come I''ve never heard of him?"
Mother: "He and your dad were not that close. There
