There’s a story of a five-year-old named Brian who had a pivotal verse to recite in an Easter program. The verse was Luke 24:6, “He is not here, he is risen.”

Unfortunately, he could not remember what to say, and the director had to quietly remind Brian of his line. But something happened in the translation. Brian confidently grabbed the microphone and triumphantly shouted, “He’s not here; he’s in prison!”

Being in prison was the last thing that Christ was on that first Easter Sunday. He was set free on that day in a way that no one in history has been set free before. He was set free from the power of death.
