God's name deserves our praise in this house and to the farthest bounds of the earth.

PRAYER OF CONFESSION
Creator of the good, Recoverer of the good, Inspirer of the good, our grandest cities and our finest houses are at best pale shadows of the city of God. We have corrupted them with vice and violence and greed. We have only belatedly made more adequate provision for the handicapped. Forgive our failures in making our highest dreams come true, with the strength of justice, the humanity of compassion, the dignity of equality. It is not the City of David but the City of Christ that we need. Amen.
