O God of our salvation, we seek to give glory to your name through Jesus Christ and in his living Spirit. Receive our worship and hear our petitions for his sake who loved us and gave himself for us, Jesus our Lord. Amen.

Ruler of All, all things, all persons, we admit that we are more shrewd in getting ahead in earthly things than we are in heavenly things. We may use every advantage we can get to avoid taxes, but not every opportunity to avoid temptation. We may pad our accounts and exaggerate our virtues in giving account of ourselves.
