Prayer of Confession
Forbearing God, despite your call for absolute obedience and the rejection of all other gods, we continue to follow old customs, unexamined behaviors, not unlike our neighbors, not in accordance with the teaching of Jesus and contrary to the law of love. Forgive such disloyal behavior that taxes your patience. Give us opportunity to mend our ways as we become aware of our need to repent and follow Jesus more nearly. We ask this in his name. Amen.
