How dangerous is the pride in which we attempt to compare our greatness to yours, O God! What lineage, however honorable, can be traced with confidence in your eternity? What national history or personal history, deserves to be mentioned in connection with the history of your saving acts? Forgive the haughtiness that accompanies our pride of race, or place, or person. Only by your grace are we received into the heavenly realms, through Jesus Christ our Savior. Amen.
