I suppose most of us older folks remember Rogers and Hammerstein's movie South Pacific. There is a song, sung by Mitzi Gainer, entitled: "You've Got to Be Carefully Taught." If you are not careful, you will get so caught up with the catchy tune and the pretty face, and you will miss the biting sarcasm that is in this song. The point of the lyrics is that hates and prejudices are taught behavior. For children the natural order is openness. "It's got to be drummed in their dear little heads, you've got to be carefully taught," goes the song.
