Children's Sermon

Purpose: Understanding values.

Materials: Several pieces of paper of different colors, cut to the size of a dollar bill. A one dollar bill.

Lesson: After you have had a chance to look at these pieces of paper, I want you to tell me which one you would like to have. Let's take a vote. If you could have one of these pieces of paper, how many would take this one? (Hold up the dollar bill.) I wonder why all (or most) of you chose the dollar bill? It's just a piece of paper like the others. It may look nicer than the others, since it has some printing on it; but if you wanted some paper to draw on, would you still take the dollar bill? (Yes, because then you could buy some plain paper to use.)
