1:1–7:73a Review · The Third Mission: Nehemiah Restores the Wall: The first seven chapters of Nehemiah and all or most of chapters 11–13 are considered part of the Nehemiah memoirs; they are written in first person. The name Nehemiah means “the Lord comforts,” a fitting name for one whom the Lord uses to encourage the discouraged exiles. Nehemiah is a very capable leader; he has a deep trust in God and is a careful organizer and a man of action.
