Good morning, boys and girls. Today is a special day in our church year. On this day we celebrate the Baptism of Jesus. Does anyone know how and when Jesus was baptized? (Let them answer.) Well, Jesus was baptized by his cousin John in the Jordan River. His baptism was a lot different from yours and mine, but it does make us think of the day of our own baptism which probably took place when we were babies. Our parents brought us to church and the minister took some water from a baptismal font like this (Point to font.) and sprinkled or poured it on our heads.
