The church had received a nice donation from a member who wanted to help the church expand its youth ministry. The board decided that the best use of the money would be to hire a full-time youth leader; someone who could relate to the youth and help create an active program. A committee was formed to find that person and bring their recommendation back to next month’s board meeting. At that meeting, the committee was happy to announce they have found what they thought was the perfect person to lead the new ministry, and they were even more excited to say it was someone from their own community.
