Confessional Litany
Divide the congregation into two voices.
I: Light in darkness,
II: sound in silence,
I: you break through our fences of pride
II: and our walls of despair.
I: We act in deadly ways that hurt others.
II: We act in deadly ways that hurt ourselves.
I: We run from you,
II: but again and again you find us.
I and II: Expose now what is in our hearts.
Silence for reflection and self-examination
Leader: God does not judge us on our outward appearances or outward actions alone, for God sees far more than humans see. God sees the heart.
May his word of truth cleanse you from all sin and may your eyes be opened to see him.
