Pastoral Invitation to the Celebration
Try this: Use the simulation of being blind to put the people in touch with the reality of blindness. Either ask the people to find their seats with their eyes closed, or once they come into the sanctuary, ask them to move around the sanctuary to introduce themselves to each other with their eyes closed. Expect some resistance, and give permission not to do the exercise if they choose not to do so.

Then, ask them to sing the first hymn also with their eyes closed. Get them in touch with how much they take their eyes for granted.
