Good morning, boys and girls. Today we are going to have a lot of fun and I hope that we are also going to learn something. I brought along a piece of rope and I want to use it to make a line of the floor. This rope is the starting line for a contest. I want to see how far you can jump starting at this line. (Line the children up so that they can take turns jumping.) The winner of our contest will be the person who can jump the farthest. (Select the winner.) You can really jump far. We are going to let you brag a little about yourself. Would you like to tell everyone what you do to jump farther than anyone else in the room?
