Good morning, boys and girls. I have two things I’d like to show you today: this big red paper heart and this list of six rules. Both tell about John Wesley who was a saint who lived a long time ago. They tell how he shaped the church. He taught Christians about having a heart in their religion.

This heart reminds us that we must not only understand about God and being a part of his family, but we must also have a heart.

This means we must learn to feel about our religion as well as think about it. Having a heart in our religion means that we do as Jesus taught us. We hurt when people hurt; we celebrate when people are happy. We feel for their disappointments and their joys and take part in both. That’s the way God wants us to be. H…
