Good morning, boys and girls. Today is the fourth Sunday in Advent and the fourth time for us to use one of the ancient, but still-used instruments. Who can remember the names of the instruments that we talked about the last three Sundays? (Let the children try to name them with some hints if necessary.) Just think, Jesus might have played one of these instruments when He was a boy. Today, I brought a special instrument that I know Jesus listened to, but I am quite sure that He never used it. The name of this instrument is the tambourine and it is a rhythm instrument like the bells, the cymbals, and the castanet. Let me show you how you play the tambourine.
