On a rugged section of seacoast many decades ago a crude lifesaving station was built. Only a few volunteers manned the station to watch for ships that were in danger of the rocks. On the occasion of a shipwreck the handful of volunteers took their one and only boat out to bring others to shore safely. The number of saved sailors soared as the lifesaving station gained in status because of the dramatic rescues.
