The first three words of Zechariah 12:1 (massaʾ debar YHWH), An Oracle: This is the word of the LORD, appear in the OT only here and at the beginning of Zechariah 9:1 and Malachi 1:1. This repeated formula links the books of Zechariah and Malachi. (See the introduction to Zechariah and also the additional note to 9:1, above.)
