The reader knows that Jehu’s dynasty will last four generations, and the accession of Jehoahaz after his death (13:1–9) represents the next installment. There is, though, one remarkable moment in Jehoahaz’s term of office that merits consideration: during a severe Aramean invasion, the king entreats the Lord, who responds favorably, much like during the turbulent times of the judges.
