Boys and girls, we are in the season of Lent. Do you remember what Lent is all about? (Talk with them about the meaning of the season.) Lent is a time to think about how God suffered for us through his Son, Jesus. Soon we will come to Holy Week, when we will have the story of Jesus dying on the cross.

I have a cross with me today. It reminds us of how God loved us. Let's think about that for a few minutes. Do you think it was a wise or a foolish thing for Jesus to do to die on the cross?
