Good morning, boys and girls. Have any of you tasted blackberries (or blackberry jelly)? They're all sweet and juicy and good, aren't they? Blackberries grow on long vines, and the vines and the soil around the vines have to get a lot of water in order to grow. If blackberries don't get enough water, they will be dry and sour. They won't be good to eat at all. The heat of the sun can dry up a blackberry vine, so that it dies and doesn't produce any berries. But enough water will protect the vine from drying up, even in the heat. So …
