1 Corinthians 13:1-13

In explaining the virtues of a double boiler the hardware man said, "These pans can be used separately or together and either way they are most serviceable. You see how one fits into the other but they are easily separated. We have one over here that is slightly damaged and once they are used together it takes real prying to get them apart."

"I'll take the good one," said the customer.

True friendship is the kind wherein both friends are able to be of value separately or work together with satisfaction.

True friendship is not overly possessive nor detrimental to happiness at any time. There is an ease and a security in the relationship which indicates love and trust and also finds joy in the success and happiness of others.

True friendship endures through the years and the understanding welcome of good friends is a joy to behold. Those who learn to give themselves in friendship are welcome wherever they go for the world needs such citizens and such life is well invested. Like the double boiler which can serve many purposes together or separately, so real friends find themselves able to fit many circumstances in life.
