Leader: Simeon saw Mary and Joseph bringing Jesus to the temple, and he prayed to God saying, "My eyes have seen your salvation."
People: We too, Lord, have seen with our eyes, have heard with our ears, and know with our hearts and minds that Jesus Christ is the Messiah, our salvation from death.
Leader: Anna saw Mary and Joseph's child, and she began praising God, knowing that Jesus brought the redemption she awaited.
People: Merciful God, you have kept your promises and have sent Jesus to pay the debts of our sin. Blessed be your name, O Lord, and welcome is the Messiah you send to us.
