Vice President Dan Quayle was on the campaign trail--in Champaign-Urbana--campaigning for an Illinois politician, Representative Lynn Martin.
Organizers of the political rally got school children excused from school for the parade. They asked the youngsters to wave and cheer when the motorcade came by.
And they did.
They waved and cheered just as they had been instructed.
