Object: A Cocoon

Isn’t this a great day to be together here in church? It is Easter Sunday, and that makes this a wonderful day.

Now, I want you to look at this. (Show them the cocoon.) Who knows what this is? Can anyone tell us? That is right. This is a cocoon. A butterfly lived in here for awhile. When he first went inside he was a caterpillar. He built this little nest to live in. Then when he came out he was a butterfly, and he flew away.

This is a good symbol of what Easter means. We talked last Sunday about Jesus coming to Jerusalem. You remember that on Friday Jesus died on the Cross. But then, on Sunday, Jesus was…
