Exegetical note
Luke here portrays the earliest Christian community as strongly unified by their faith in the resurrection of Christ and by the power of the Holy Spirit. This spirit of unity spilled over naturally and spontaneously into a communal sharing of all goods, with the result that need within the community was eliminated by the disciples’ distribution of the shared wealth.
