Congregation: God, save us from giving mere lip-service!
Leader: Children of God, Jesus said, "It is from within, from the human heart, that evil intentions come."

Prayer
God of truth, cut through the camouflage of our religious trappings. Measure our inner life with the standard of Christ. Compare our motivations with Jesus' self-giving love. Test our secret thoughts with the light of Christ's truth.Then give us clean hearts, and hold us close to you forever. Amen.
