Good morning, boys and girls. How many of you wish that you could have lived in the "old days"? I mean the real old days when there was a frontier in America and men and women of the frontier were called pioneers. How many of you have read stories or seen television shows about those "old days?" Good. [Use your axe or old hand plow.] The pioneers used this old axe to clear the land because they wanted a new kind of life. There were fields and houses and streets back in the east, but they wanted to start a whole new life and they are really ready to work for it. It wasn’t easy, and they had to learn a lot.
