Prayer of Confession
Sovereign God, we do not need nightmares to fill us with fear. The television news shows us some of the horrors of war and cruelty in the streets. When the promise of peace seems strongest new conflicts between tribes and nations breaks out and our world continues in turmoil awaiting the final victory of your justice and peace. Forgive our doubts that you will one day rule the world without opposition; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
