Choral Invitation
Today, have the chancel choir move two-thirds of the way to the rear of the sanctuary, while the second choir moves two-thirds of the way to the front. Deliberately, have the two choirs pass each other in the aisles, even though the choir members may bump into each other. (Symbolically, the church and the world are constantly bumping into each other.) Now, have the choir closest to the chancel sing with more vigor and enthusiasm, "O Come, O Come, Emmnauel," than the former chancel choir, who sings with less vigor and enthusiasm, "Santa Claus Is Coming To Town."
