Introduction

If one is to get a true picture of the great conflict that went on in the mind of Simon the Zealot, one needs to consider his background. Perhaps a paragraph could be included in the program that would establish Simon’s ties with the Zealottes and his hatred of Rome. Care should be taken that the paragraph not be too long, or the interest of the readers will be lost.

Scene: Three crosses on Golgotha, in dawn’s light on the first Easter morning. Lighting gets gradually brighter as story unfolds.
