You use a mirror to see your hair when you comb it, or when you wash your face, or when you want to see how your clothes look on you. Some people use a mirror to see what their face looks like. Those are all good ways to use a mirror. Mirrors are sometimes used to make light. Now, let me show you what I mean. If I take a mirror and hold it up to the sun, I can send the light of the sun to a place that is in the shadows.
